We have had many Hawaiian owls that have been rehabbed and released.
Here is a video of a release.

Nene

We have treated nene with broken legs, nene with head injuries and have raised a number of orphaned chicks.

Barn Owls

These are the most common raptor brought to the Santuary. Typically we see head injuries or broken wings or legs, often automobile-related. We also see birds with "sick owl syndrome" which is caused by a systemic fungal infection. Unfortunately, by the time these animals are brought to use, they are usually very near death.

We have cared for 3 of these extremely rare pelagic birds. One of them ("Georgous") lived on the floor of our bedroom for 18 months.
